About me
Hi, I'm Athanas, but most people know me as Atto, I am the Director and Head Coach of AZ Basketball
My basketball journey began with the Bacchus Marsh Lions, where I made my first representative squad back in 2015. Since then, I've had the privilege of playing for five different clubs, competing in leagues ranging from Big V Division 1 & 2 Youth Men's to Big V State Championship Youth Men's.
Being part of so many teams has allowed me to experience a variety of play styles and coaching techniques, which have significantly improved my game and basketball IQ. Each team presented new challenges and opportunities to learn, shaping me into a versatile player and a keen learner.
Coaching wasn't initially on my radar, as I was deeply focused on training and improving my own skills. That changed when I met Darren Hindle from Transition Sports. He introduced me to the idea that teaching others could also enhance my own game. Under the mentorship of Darren and the respected head coach Tim Devlin, I spent three years coaching at Transition Sports.
Inspired by this experience, I decided to launch AZ Basketball Skills Coaching. My goal is to pass on the knowledge and skills I've gained to the next generation of players, helping them reach their full potential both on and off the court.
